Stakeholder Theory - the beginnings of business for the modern age
Professor Ed Freeman is the author of 'Stakeholder Theory'. In this, he recognises that business's responsibilities go far beyond the traditional triumvirate of Shareholder - Employee -Customer. Stakeholder Theory says that a business is obligated to have a positive impact on all the people, communities and ecosystems touched by that business's activities all the way from raw materials sourcing through manufacture to delivery to the shelf in front of the consumer.
